T minus 18.. Off to Dorset TR Register

The Dorset TR Register's BBQ night, with Wessex as guests. TS2 was, of course, the belle of the ball.

Thursday 20th August was the Dorset TR Register’s BBQ night with Wessex TR Register as guests. Many TRs assembled in the golden light, which was quite a win considering:

  • The A31 is still closed due to damage from a recent wild fire.
  • We had to downgrade to cold-buffet as BBQs are (understandably) prohibited given the dry conditions.
  • A sudden downpour in the afternoon scuppered more than one attendee’s plans to bring a classic.

TS2 was, of course, the belle of the ball. Resplendent enough with her bonnet down, the chance of a peek at the engine bay drew quite a crowd. Evie captured here topping up the oil by “two glugs” as the tide had gone out a bit in the sump.

A glorious drive home in the dark required a little hunt to remember the dash layout, but pleased to note the lights are far better than Evie’s much later 4A and (unsurprisingly) my dynamo powered two candle power Spitfire MK1.

A glorious drive home in the dark, and a dash that took a moment to relearn.

For those under 40, attention deficient or time constrained, a youtube short of the journey, above.
